PHOTOS: Twin Falls ID Celebrates America's 250th Anniversary!

Crackles, hisses, whistles, and booms could be heard all week throughout southern Idaho as the United States celebrated its 250th anniversary of gaining independence. It was a lively week in Twin Falls, too, as patriotic revelers set off fireworks up to midnight (and beyond) through Sunday evening.

This Fourth of July, my family stayed in with our dogs to celebrate and make sure our pets weren't losing their minds too badly. We have two chocolate lab puppies that had never experienced the holiday known to drive animals completely mad, so, we spent Saturday night near them trying to drown out the noise and calm their nerves.

We did manage to pull some chairs out on the front lawn and check out the display just before 10 P.M. on the fourth and had a 360-degree view of fireworks; it was one of the better celebrations I've been a part of in years, and didn't require being out on the roads Saturday night.

Twin Falls Celebrated The 250th Anniversary of The United States' Independence In Impressive Fashion

I had my camera ready all week and caught some great photos throughout Twin Falls County, starting with the celebration that took place last Saturday at Wendell High School.

The College of Southern Idaho put on one heck of a display once again as we caught the entire show from our front lawn. The illegal mortars once again filled the sky above Twin Falls, but thankfully, I didn't hear of any property devastation or fires being sparked resulting from the week-long barrage of aerials.

We got lucky. Happy 250th, Idaho!
