A Possible Homicide and Police Involved Shooting Reported in Bellevue Thursday

A press release has been issued jointly by the Idaho State Police and Blaine County Sheriff’s Office regarding an incident in Southern Idaho on Thursday morning around 6. The press release states that officers from multiple agencies:

responded to a residence in Bellevue, Idaho for a report of a possible homicide. Upon their arrival, a Bellevue Deputy Marshal became engaged in an officer-involved shooting with a suspect and confirmed the presence of a deceased individual on the property, the apparent victim of homicide. The injured suspect was flown via air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, Idaho.

No further details of the homicide or the officer-involved shooting are being released at this time.

No officers were injured in this incident. Additional information will be released when it becomes available. There is no current threat to public safety.

The incidents are being investigated by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office for the homicide and a Critical Incident Task Force will be led by the Jerome County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the officer-involved shooting.

ISP Respond To Fatal Medical Emergency in Kootenai County

Idaho State Police also responded to an incident in Kootenai County, ID Thursday around 4:29 PM on Highway 97:

Upon arrival, it was determined that a 68 year old male from Oregon had pulled his motorcycle over, stepped off the motorcycle, and was drinking water when he then collapsed. CPR and other life-saving techniques were administered. The male was pronounced deceased on scene. The highway was closed for an hour. Next of kin has been notified. This incident remains under investigation.
