See Where They Happened – 16 Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Idaho
Riding a motorcycle comes with a sense of freedom but it also comes with extra dangers. Idaho roads this year have proved that riding a bike can be deadly.
There have been 23 accidents reported by the Idaho State Police this year involving motorcycles with dozens of injuries and fatalities.
18 Killed and 16 Injured in Idaho Motorcycle Accidents This Year
The first report of a fatal motorcycle accident in 2024 from the ISP was on the second weekend of April. There were two fatal motorcycle crashes on April 13th, one near Preston and the other in Idaho County.
Since then, there have been an additional 16 motorcycle rider deaths and 16 people injured in motorcycle-related accidents.

In 2021, there were 15 motorcycle deaths by mid-September. In 2023 of the 11 accidents we reported between the end of June and mid-August, only 2 were not fatal.

Motorcycles aren’t the only dangerous vehicle to drive in Idaho. In the final days of September and into the first days of October, there were 3 separate accidents involving semi-trucks. Initial reports say that 2 of the crashes were due to inattentive driving by the truck drivers. One driver has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after a woman died when he ran a stop sign.
