
Southern Idaho Accident Involving 3 Vehicles Kills 1 and Injures 3 Others
A devastating accident in Southern Idaho the day before Christmas Eve sent three people to the hospital and killed one driver.
The crash happened on a highway between Gooding and Wendell, northwest of Twin Falls, involving three vehicles.
Idaho State Police Investigating Fatal 3-Vehicle Crash in Gooding County
The news release from the Idaho State Police states that the accident happened on State Highway 46 near mile marker 107 (near SH46 and E 2300 S/Shoestring Rd) on Tuesday, December 23rd, around 5:45 in the afternoon. The accident is being investigated by the Idaho State Police.
The report shares the following regarding the vehicles and people involved in the accident:
- A juvenile was driving northbound on SH46 in a gray 2011 Ford F150.
- The F150 crossed the center line and side-swiped a maroon 2016 Subaru Impreza, driven by a 28-year-old female from Hailey, Idaho.
- The F150 then collided head-on with a gray 2012 Volkswagen Passat that was driven by a 25-year-old female from Gooding with a juvenile passenger.
The drivers of the Ford and Subaru were wearing seatbelts when the accident happened. The driver of the Volkswagen was not wearing a seatbelt and passed away at the scene of the crash. The report does not specify whether the juvenile passenger was wearing a seatbelt.
The juvenile driver of the Ford and the juvenile passenger in the Volkswagen were taken by Life Flight air ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Subaru was taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance.

The accident closed the highway for around 3 hours, and the ISP will continue to investigate the accident.
