UPDATE: This Popular Twin Falls Splash Pad is Officially Back Open
UPDATE: The Twin Falls splash pad at the First Federal Park is open again - and just in time for the 4th of July!
ORIGINAL STORY: About two weeks ago I contacted the City of Twin Falls to see when the free splash pads would be open. They said the Parks and Rec were working on maintenance for the Downtown Commons and that it, along with the First Federal Park Splash Pad, should have opened over Memorial Day. That didn’t happen.
There’s good news and there’s bad news when it comes to the free splash pads in Twin Falls. The good news is that the Downtown Commons are on and ready for you to play in. The bad news is that the splash pad at the Sunway Soccer Complex next to the First Federal Park is not on yet, and won’t be for a while.
Why Is The First Federal Splash Pad Not Open Yet
The City of Twin Falls sent out a message about the splash pad and why it hasn’t been turned on yet. Here’s their statement:
The surface of the Splashpad is peeling and the company who completed the work has been contacted to assess and fix the damage. Unfortunately, turning on the Splashpad in this condition will cause further damage. We are working diligently to get this resolved as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we thank you for your patience.
The splash pad will be closed for maintenance until further notice.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t head to the park to play. The First Federal Park is still one of the coolest parks in the city and is open. There is plenty of shade from small trees, the pavilion, and the canopies. Kids and families can run free in the large soccer fields too.
Dogs are not allowed in either of the splash pads and should be kept on a leash otherwise.
