COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — The families of two northern Idaho teens killed in a car accident near Twin Falls have reached a financial settlement with the 21-year-old driver who pleaded guilty to reckless driving for his role in the September 2010 crash. The families of Ryan Reinhardt and Devon Austin, a college baseball player who had been drafted by the Chicago Cubs before his death, agreed to settle their civil lawsuit against Kade Laughlin earlier this month in 5th District Court. The Coeur d'Alene Press reported (http://bit.ly/P98HjB) Thursday that the lawsuit filed by the families and a young woman who survived the crash was settled for $50,000, the maximum amount available under Laughlin's insurance plan. The money will be split between the three parties. Laughlin was accused of chasing Reinhardt's vehicle before it crashed.
