SHOSHONE, Idaho (AP) — Police have arrested one person and are looking for two more connected to a shooting in the Idaho desert.

Not only will Magic Valley area voters have candidates to choose on May 15th but they will also need to make a decision on some school bond issues.  Voters in the Filer School District will be voting on a 2-year, $500,000 supplemental levy which will allow the district to maintain current operations.

(AP) An appellate court has upheld the conviction of a southern Idaho woman serving seven years in prison for stealing cattle. The Idaho Court of Appeals issued a ruling Tuesday in the case of Traci Hadden, who says her trial should have been moved from Lincoln County due to the publicity  surrounding her in a separate case, where she was charged with plotting to kill her former father-in-law... (AP) Authorities say a 25-year-old southern Idaho man found dead along a road near Gooding  succumbed to a lethal mix of alcohol and hypothermia.

The Gooding County sheriff says that foul play has been ruled out in the death of a Shoshone man whose body was found on Friday. The body of 25 year old Juan Carlos Perez-Garcia was found Friday morning in Gooding County. Sheriff Shaun Gough says they believe foul play was not involved and are waiting for a toxicoligy report before determining the cause of the death...

A gas leak in Shoshone yesterday afternoon caused the evacuation of several homes in the area. Police say the leak started just before 4:00 pm after a resident was putting up a fense in his yard and accidentally hit the line. As a precaution police evacuated homes and closed off the intersection of North Greenwood and West Third streets...

It’s a delicate balancing act…to keep the Snake River from overflowing and yet make room in upstream reservoirs in time for the belated spring runoff.  The result is a spectacular view of Shoshone Falls with over 18,000 cubic feet of water going over it every second.  The spectacle usually only happens in the spring of the year as the Bureau of Reclamation opens gates in upstream reservoirs to mak
