Shoshone Resident Wins $1 Million Powerball Lottery
Boise, ID (KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) - It’s the first million dollar powerball winner for Shoshone or Lincoln County and for the person winning the money it was the surprise of a lifetime.
Sunday, Sara Perez checked her Powerball ticket from the June 3, 2015 drawing. A long time player, Perez checked her one-line quick pick ticket at an Idaho Lottery retail store and discovered she had matched the first five numbers and her ticket was worth $1,000,000.
“The machine started making noises, ‘Beep! Beep! Beep!’ I thought I had broken it!” exclaimed Perez when she claimed her winning ticket in Boise. “I am still in shock.”
She plans to pay down her bills with her winnings.
For their part in selling the winning ticket, The Main Stop in Shoshone receives a bonus from the Idaho Lottery for $20,000.
The jackpot for Wednesday night’s Powerball draw is an estimated $70,000,000.
