Fire/Water Damage Salt Lake City LDS Conference Center

(AP)  Parts of the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City have been damaged after a small fire triggered a deluge from a sprinkler system. Salt Lake City Fire Department officials say the sprinklers had already doused the flames when crews responded about 8:15 p.m. Monday. But the system had dumped thousands of gallons of water in the first few rows of the 21,000-seat auditorium.

Not Everyone Is Happy About TFCWC Closure

You might have heard by now that the Twin Falls Community Work Center will soon be closing its doors. The center, which is operated by the Idaho Department of Corrections, allows about 80 non- violent offenders to work in the community while serving out their sentences. The department says it's closing the center due to budget constraints.

Former Senior Director May Still Face Charges

Fraud charges will likely be re-filed against the former director of the Minidoka County Senior Center.  Charges that she embezzled nearly $2500 from the center have been dismissed for now against 29 year old Holly Anne Najera.

Rec-Center Study

A committee has been formed in Twin Falls to study the possibility of building a recreation center in the future.  The 17 member committee consists of four city employees, three city council members and the remainder from city residents and service organization members.
