KTVB - A tax-protesting northern Idaho Republican representative has lost in his four-way primary. Rep. Phil Hart was defeated by challenger Ed Morse in Kootenai County's District 2 race. Morse faces Democrat Dan English in November. Hart has been fighting the state and federal government over hundreds of thousands in unpaid income taxes.
Twin Falls Driver Blacks Out – Hits House
(AP) - Police say a Twin Falls man blacked out while smoking a synthetic marijuana substance and drove his vehicle into a house. No one was injured during the incident Monday. Police say 24-year-old Casey McElliot was cited for reckless driving. A preliminary investigation by the Twin Falls Police Department found McElliot had been smoking a product called Hayze and blacked out just before striking the house.

For several days the conversation at the State Capitol has been ongoing… should a woman be required to get an ultrasound before an abortion? Wednesday, movement on that bill was halted when Rep. Tom Loertscher, the Chairman of the House State Affairs Committee canceled a hearing set for today. The bill cleared the senate Monday but before it could land in the house, Chairman Loertscher pulled it from the agenda saying there’s been a lot of misinformation about the bill.

Idaho House Approves Bill Capping Spending
(AP) - The House has approved a bill that is aimed at capping annual general fund spending at a little more than 5 percent of total personal income in the state. The bill approved 48-21 Monday would set the cap at a rate of 5.3 percent of the total personal income generated by Idahoans, estimated at $54.1 billion for fiscal year 2013.
