At Monday’s Twin Falls City Council meeting the council voted to send developers to mediation with petitioners who don’t like some of the plans for the new Canyon Park Development project. That decision came after the council was presented with petitions from two separate groups of concerned citizens in the area of the proposed development.
Kohl’s Dept. Store To Build In Twin Falls
Twin Falls will soon be home to the sixth Kohl’s Department Store in the state of Idaho. Twin Falls Community Development Director Mitch Humble told the Times News this week that the Wisconsin based company will be building a store in the new Canyon Park Development project in north Twin Falls along the Snake River Canyon rim.

Twin Falls Officials Discuss Land Swap For Dog Park
There could be a land swap in the future that would allow Twin Falls residents to have a dog park in the western part of town. Last night the Twin Falls City Council revealed plans for a possible swap with 2.7 acres of land owned by Twin Falls County at the corner of Blake Street North and Shoup Avenue. In exchange the city of Twin Falls would trade its one-third share of the McCoy gravel pit property west of the former St. Lukes hospital on West Addison.
Event Planned For Fallen Jerome Soldier
An event will be held in Jerome later today in memory of U.S. Army Sgt. Daniel Brown. Sgt. Brown died in Afghanistan Saturday when an IED exploded. He was 27 years old. Sgt. Brown leaves behind a wife and 3-month old twin daughters. The event will be held in the Jerome City Park at 5:30 this afternoon.
