Celebrate 104 Years of Girl Scouts with Recipe Contest
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – The Twin Falls City Council on Monday announced several proclamations for the month of March, including Girl Scout Week March 6-12.
Yes, Girl Scout Week. If you missed it, there’s still Saturday.
Saturday, March 12, marks the 104-year of Girl Scouts of America. Want to celebrate? Here’s one way: submit your very own recipe using Girl Scout cookies as an ingredient.
Nope, this is not something we made up but it’s a real contest sponsored by the Girl Scouts of America and Taste of Home. This is how it works:
Through March 25, submit your own recipe to Taste of Home. You have four categories to choose from, but your recipe must include traditional Girl Scout cookies in the recipe. Not only will you be creative, but you’ll have the chance to win some money. That’s always a good thing, right?
The categories in which to submit your Girl Scout cookie-inspired recipes are 1) cakes, pies and cupcakes; 2) cookies, brownies and bars; 3) pudding, ice cream and gelatin desserts; and 4) candies.
Culinary experts at Taste of Home will select their favorite 16 recipes, four in each category, “based on taste, visual appeal, creativity, and crown appeal,” according to a Feb. 23 news release by the Girl Scouts.
Between April 25 and May 1, members of the public will have the chance to judge the recipes at girlscouts.org/recipecontest.
