The Twin Falls City Council will hold a public hearing this evening regarding bicycle safety.  The hearing will start at 6 o’clock in the City Council chambers.  The Twin Falls Parks and Recreation Commission has asked for several improvements in the city’s bicycle safety code in response to several serious and even fatal accidents regarding bicyclists over the past couple of years.  Among some of the recommendations are a minimum of three feet when motorists are passing a bicycle and making it a misdemeanor to harass a bicyclist or pedestrian with intent of making them fall or crash.  Tonight’s meeting will the punctuated with the fact that another accident Saturday night in Twin Falls sent a bicyclist to the hospital with minor injuries.  That happened at the intersection of Second Ave. West and Shoshone Street North.  That accident is still under investigation.
