A piece of American history is vanishing: Drive-In Movies.Twin Falls is in danger of losing both of our Drive-In movies, but Honda is giving us a way to help with Project Drive-In.

You can help save the Motor-Vu Drive-In!

For many of the remaining 300 drive-in movie theaters in the United States, this will be their final summer. The movie industry is requiring that all drive-ins convert to digital before the start of the 2014 movie season. A new digital projector costs in the range of $85,000 to $100,000. Many drive-ins simply won't be able to afford it.

The future of Twin Falls' two drive-ins, the Motor-Vu and Grand-Vu, is uncertain. Owners Interstate Amusement posted on their Facebook page last March that this could be their last summer, but that they are committed to keeping the historic drive-ins open.

Honda's Project Drive-In

In an effort to increase awareness and help local drive-ins, Honda has created Project Drive-In. They are giving away five digital projectors to drive-ins, but we have to choose which ones by voting.

Visit Project Drive-In's official site and vote for the Motor-Vu. Every vote counts. It would help to share on Twitter and Facebook as well. The more people who know about the project, the more that can help.

Help us save the historic Motor-Vu Drive-In in Twin Falls. Don't let this beloved piece of our history vanish before our eyes.
