Suspect Arrested Following Boise Bank Robbery, Manhunt
News shocked the Treasure Valley following a robbery at a bank in Boise in the middle of the afternoon just a week ago. A robbery? In Boise?
We're beyond lucky to live in an area where crime rates are low and we look out for one another. Boise is, overall, a very safe metro. Sometimes, however, one person will 'ruin' the vibe for all of us.
That's exactly what took place on Overland Road, as a suspect walked into a bank near Vista and Overland. The individual walked off with cash from the bank, too. He was able to get away on foot.
Today, Boise Police have announced the suspect is in custody.
Shortly after the robbery, Boise Police released photos of the suspect on social media, asking for the public’s assistance. Tips from community members helped investigators quickly identify a suspect. The Boise Police Violent Crimes Unit continued its investigation and obtained a warrant for the suspect’s arrest. The suspect, Joaquin Pereira, was located in Boise and taken into custody without incident.
The department then went on to thank the community for getting involved in sharing and identifying.
As always, we're thankful for our local law enforcement officers and investigators that are working around the clock to keep our city safe--and get these guys off of the street.
