I Couldn’t Find A House In Boise Under $350,000 On Zillow

Did you know that it's more expensive than ever to try to find a place to live in Boise, Idaho?

Of course you did. Everyone knows. Your mom knows. All your neighbors know. That foreign exchange student you hosted for one summer but haven't talked to since 2017 knows. It's definitely not a secret.

Between rising housing costs across the country, inflation, and an influx of new people to Idaho, you're going to be hard-pressed to be able to afford a home in Boise in 2023 unless you're bringing home some impressive amounts of dollars.

Don't believe me? Check Zillow. A very basic search of homes for sale in Boise, Idaho shows hundreds of hits. It looks like lots of Boisians are ready to sell...for a premium. Of the first 30 entries, not a single one of them was priced under $350,000. If you scroll down (and we mean...way down) you'll eventually find places for less, but in the opinion of this writer, they're way too pricey for what they're offering.

What's one to do? We honestly don't have a quick nor easy answer. It takes a long time for economies and housing markets to move up and down, so we could see housing prices in Boise drop any day now, or continue to rise for the foreseeable future. Sadly, only time will tell.
