For weeks, the greater Idaho community has been looking forward to the return of an air show over the Mountain Home Air Force Base. The show kicked off this weekend with thousands in attendance and in an unexpected and tragic turn, a collision involving two F-18 fighter jets has shocking images and video surfing across the internet.

Perhaps the best news out of all of this, is that it appears all four pilots ejected quickly and safely.
The Mountain Home Police Department has taken to social media to urge people NOT to approach the air show or the incident:
The Mountain Home Air Show has been officially canceled. Please DO NOT travel to or attempt to access Mountain Home Air Force Base as a spectator, as the event will no longer be taking place. We understand many were looking forward to this event and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
While the story continues to develop, there have been no official updates from the airshow itself, other than the organizers joining authorities in informing the public of the crash and immediate closure & cancelation of the show.
Spectators at the show report that an announcer at the event said that all four Navy pilots had been 'found safe'.
At this time, limited information is available and an investigation is underway. This story will continue to be updated as more information becomes available.
