Magic Valley Swimming Places to Recommend to People You Hate

The issue with Buhl struggling to get lifeguards makes me wonder. Where are places that aren’t good for swimming? If you have unwanted guests come to visit and you’re feeling a little salty, where would you send them? Would you offer a bad idea to get a pesky person off your back? They would never ask you for your suggestions again.

Where are the Worst Places to Swim in the Magic Valley?

This is not something to be taken lightly. Serious thought and deliberation went into each recommendation I make. Picking the perfect spot is not an easy task.

Twin Falls Wastewater Plant has to be on the shortlist. Located at the end of a scenic drive on Canyon Springs Road, one can only hope for a day when things aren’t processing quite right. The least beloved family members stopping by unannounced could be sent there.

Perhaps a trip to Amalgamated Sugar would be in order? The pond next to the railroad tracks on Beryl Avenue is particularly green and full of ducks and duck poo. Quite an experience when the aroma from the factory fills the air on a hot day.

A fish hatchery would make a most excellent place not to swim. I’m sure the fish love those tanks, but it might be a limiting experience for your uninvited guests. The Magic Valley has so many in the area, it’s too hard to pick just one. Perhaps if there is a bus tour from California you can suggest several different ones near you.

Under Shoshone Falls is a perfect place to not swim. It requires a port over Pillar Falls which will take up plenty of time. This would also require packing snacks and drinks that you would never suggest they pack, ensuring they will be plenty hungry and grumpy by the time they get to the falls. After the grueling trip, your objectionable roommates will have to make getting to the falls, swimming is definitely not on their priority list. Nor is it advisable in said location.

Dierkes Lake gets the final hoorah. There’s a plethora of attendees that don’t pick up their litter leading to a most distinct experience of goop at the edges of the water and squishy sludge between your toes. Plus, the fish try to eat the straps of my sandals and freak me out. Just imagining what is at the bottom of the extremely murky water leads to an air of eww.

Let’s face it. The Magic Valley has many great places to go swimming. The Twin Falls City Pool has plenty of offerings for different activities. Perhaps try Miracle Hot Springs for a soak and massage. Nat Soo Pah has swimming and camping - great. 1000 Springs Resort is a good idea. Keep these places to yourself and the people you actually want to spend time with.
