Spring is here, and that means it's time to start thinking about gathering up supplies and doing maintenance on our tents and travel trailers for the upcoming camping season.

With much of Idaho experiencing early spring, 80 degree temperatures, it's inspiring many to dream about a weekend away from the city with nothing but mountains, rivers, lakes, and wildlife to fill our views.

Having lived in Idaho for many years, I've done my share of exploring in the Gem State during the warmer months. From Redfish Lake to McGown Peak and Bruneau Dunes to Yellowstone National Park, I've seen some of the prettiest country I've ever laid eyes upon that's just a couple hours drive outside Twin Falls.

It's difficult sometimes to find a place to park a travel trailer for the weekend that has privacy, great views, isn't hours away from home for Magic Valley residents, has lots of shade, and has a nearby body of water that's not a chore to drive out to.

Lake Cleveland is one of the best places to camp in southern Idaho. It's also just 15 miles from the town of Albion, in case you need supplies.
