It is that time of year once again. Halloween is done, the time has changed, and now it is time to not only begin preparing for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but also to rake up all the leaves in your yard. While not all the trees are bare, many of them are, and yards across the Gem State are covered with leaves. We all remember the days of kids jumping into a pile of leaves and how fun it once was, even if our parents perhaps got mad at us for doing so and ruining their hard work. Now that you are an adult, it is your turn to put in the work of getting them taken care of. Raking leaves can be a drag, but there are better ways to get rid of them in the Gem State, and now is the time to do so before it gets too cold.

Getting Rid of Leaves in Idaho

Raking leaves is one of those chores done every year that can be a hassle and not fun. While jumping in the leaves can be a blast, or seeing the smiles it causes your kids when doing so, the task of raking is tiring and a pain. That is why it is best to take an alternative route and try a different way to save your back, arms, and time as well. One of the most efficient and quickest ways to get rid of the leaves in your yard is to mow them up. You will have to empty your bag more often than normal mowing, as the leaves can fill it fast, but this will help lessen the work and save you plenty of time. It is a great choice, but it isn't the only option. There are other choices as well, with some questioning if it is ethical, and others involving working smarter and not harder.

Having a leaf blower is a nice benefit in Idaho, but when using it, where can you blow the leaves? While not ethical, you could blow the leaves into your neighbor's yard, although it will make you unpopular around the neighborhood. They likely would blow them back or not be fond of you and may have some choice words. You could leave the leaves untouched and hope for those strong Idaho winds to remove them naturally for you, but no guarantee that it will happen, and likely your leaves will blow away, and you will inherit a different home's leaves. The best bet is to blow them into your yard or driveway, where you can then rake them, mow them, or sweep them up.

It's never fun to do, but it is time to get rid of the leaves in your yard. These are some better ways to do it than strictly raking. The other option is to hire someone to do it for you, and then you don't have to worry about the time and effort to get your yard cleared of them this fall. One of the benefits of having kids is that they can take care of your leaves for you and save your effort, time, and back pain.
