6 Events Happening The First Weekend of 2025 in the Magic Valley
A new year offers a new beginning and more chances to get out and enjoy the many events throughout the year in the Magic Valley. There is always something to do and something happening, and this weekend will be the first chance to get out and enjoy some events in 2025. Here are the events to check out the first weekend of the year in the Magic Valley to get you out of the house and have some fun.
Thursday, January 2 - Teen Scavenger Hunt
With winter break dragging on, many parents are looking for something to do to get their children out of the house. This is especially true for their older children. If you have one aged between 6th grade to 12 grade, make sure to take them to the Twin Falls Public Library on Thursday, between the hours of 10 AM to 8 PM. There will be a special teen scavenger hunt, and a special prize awaits those who finish. Friday, January 3 - Animal Water Color Class
Learning to paint and be more artistic is something many strive for, and with a new year beginning, now is a great time to learn. There will be an Animal Water Color Class to help get you started this year. The class is happening this Friday at the Historic Wilson Theatre in Rupert beginning at 7 PM. Tickets to the class are $30 per person, supplies are included, and the class will be taught by Jenn Young. Make sure to get your ticket, because once spots are gone, there is no getting into the class. For more details or to get your tickets, make sure to click the link above.
Saturday, January 4 - CSI Women's Basketball
With the weather being unpredictable, picking indoor events is not the worst idea. One great activity during the winter is cheering on the local basketball teams, and the CSI women's basketball team will be in action this weekend. The team as of this writing is 11-3 and won their most recent game. They will return home to play this Saturday at 1 PM against North Idaho College. For more on the team, make sure to click the link above.
Saturday, January 4 - CSI Men's Basketball
The women's basketball team will not be the only one in action this weekend, as the CSI men's basketball team will also take the court. They currently are 12-3 and on a two-game winning streak. They will look to extend that streak on Saturday at 3 PM when they host North Idaho College. For more details on the men's team, make sure to click on the link above.
Saturday, January 4 - Movie Matinee
Going to the movies, especially in the winter, is one of the best things to do in Idaho. This time of year there are many great movies to choose from, but the problem is that it has gotten expensive, making a trip to the theater more than most would like. If you want to get out and enjoy a movie, and do so for free, make sure to go to Movie Matinee. It is taking place at the Twin Falls Public Library this Saturday at 3 PM and is the best price of all. This weekend they will be showing 'The Wild Robot.' To see what movies are coming this month and other things happening at the Twin Falls Public Library, make sure to click the link above.
Saturday, January 4 - Brett Reid With Rob Harding: Country Legends
Nothing beats listening to live music, and this Saturday there will be a special performance you will not want to miss, especially if you are a fan of country music legends. This Saturday Brett Reid with Rob Harding will be performing at the Magic Valley Arts Council Sligar Auditorium and the show begins at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for Magic Valley Art Council members, and $20 for everyone else. The show will pay respects to some of the greatest artists in country music history. If one of your New Year's resolutions is to get out and do more, this weekend is the perfect time to start. Go cheer on the women's basketball team, stay and cheer on the men's team as well, watch a movie, enjoy a concert for country legends, go on a scavenger hunt, or learn to paint better. Whatever you decide to do, have fun, be safe, and enjoy your weekend.
