8 Events to Enjoy This Hot Summer Weekend in the Magic Valley

The temperatures have risen to the highest we have seen this year so far, and it has many preferring to spend the weekend inside with the air conditioner on or in the pool. It is expected to be triple digits this weekend and getting out might be tough, but there are only so many weekends in the summer, that there is no reason to let one go to waste, despite the heat. Some fun events are happening this weekend to help distract you from the heat, and plenty to do around the Magic Valley.

Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13 - Superhero Adventure

Do you have a child that wants to be a superhero? If so then you are not going to want to miss a special event happening this weekend. Superhero Adventure is back this year and is taking place Friday and Saturday at the Historic Wilson Theatre in Rupert. There are multiple sessions, with one being on Friday at 5:30 PM. There will be two sessions on Saturday, with one at 11:30 AM and another at 5:30 PM. Tickets are $20 for an adventure ticket, or $40 for an ultimate ticket, which allows early access. There will be tons of activities and fun for the little ones, and it will be a day they are likely to never forget. Friday, July 13 - O'Reilly Parts Car Show

If you are someone who enjoys cars, then don't miss the O'Reilly Parts Car Show happening this Friday evening at O'Reilly Parts in Twin Falls. Saturday, July 13 - Market on Main

One of the best parts about weekends in the Magic Valley in the summer is that there are farmer's markets all over the area. One of the best ones that takes place each week is Market on Main. The market happens from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday on Main Street in Twin Falls. It is a great location, as it offers food, crafts, and much more, but also is a great opportunity to check out the shops in the area as well. Saturday, July 13 - 208 BBQ at Cedar Draw Ciders

If you get tired of sitting inside the house, head on out to Cedar Draw Cidery this Saturday from 4 PM to 8 PM and enjoy a nice cold glass of cider, while also enjoying some delicious BBQ from 208 BBQ. The cidery is located at 20305 HWY 30 in Buhl. This is a great chance to enjoy a nice drink, some good food, and maybe even meet some new people. Saturday, July 13 - Liquor Tasting Festival

Do you enjoy the occasional drink? Are you someone who enjoys a nice shot of liquor from time to time? This weekend is your chance to try some different kinds of liquors at the Liquor Tasting Festival taking place this Saturday. The event will be held at Canyon Crest Event Center and begins at 5 PM unless you buy a VIP experience, which you can get in at 4 PM. VIP experiences are $100, with general admission being $65. Saturday, July 13 - O'Reilly Parts Night at the Races

If you are looking for some fun later in the day on Saturday, heading to the Magic Valley Speedway might be the place for you. O'Reilly Parts Night at the Races will be taking place, with gates opening at 5 PM and the races starting at 6:30 PM. General admission is $14 for adults, $8 for children 7 to 11, and $12 for those 60 and older. Saturday, July 13 - Carpenters Platinum: A Tribute

With the temperatures expected to be in triple digits this weekend, staying in a nice cool theatre, doesn't sound like a bad option. Take in a concert at the Orpheum Theatre, located on Main in Twin Falls this weekend. Carpenters Platinum will be performing this Saturday at 7:30, and tickets start as low as $30. Sunday, July 14 - Hagerman Farmer's Market

If you cannot make it to any farmer's markets on Saturday, that is ok. One happens on Sunday in Hagerman and offers a bit of a different selection than most markets in the Magic Valley. The market takes place from 9 AM to 2 PM on Sunday and has live music, crafts, clothing, art, food, vendors, and more.
