According to a Twin Falls Country Sheriff's Office (TFSO) social media post, after an intense high-speed pursuit spanning two states, a female driver was arrested on Highway 93 on Tuesday afternoon. The chase, initiated by the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP), began after a white BMW sedan with Arizona plates was reported speeding at 140 mph near Wells, Nevada.

Nevada Highway Patrol Reports

According to a Nevada Highway Patrol Officer, the initial pursuit started at 1:08 p.m. The officer terminated the chase but later reported that the vehicle was heading towards Idaho. At 1:41 p.m., the Southern Idaho Regional Communications Center (SIRCOMM) received a follow-up call from NHP, indicating that the BMW had crossed into Idaho.

Twin Falls County Deputies Respond

Multiple deputies from the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office mobilized towards the state line, deploying spike strips in an effort to stop the speeding vehicle. As the BMW approached Mile Marker 24, a deputy observed the car traveling at 110 mph, dangerously passing on a solid yellow line and forcing another vehicle off the road.

Pursuit Details and Arrest

The white BMW continued its path, swerved off the road and nearly collided with another vehicle. The spikes deployed near 3500 North successfully slowed the car as its tires began to lose tread. At Mile Marker 44, a deputy executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, bringing the vehicle to a halt.

The driver, a female and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody without further incident. She was transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley for medical clearance before being booked into jail. As of now, the identity of the driver remains unknown.
