Idaho is full of cool, unique, and interesting architecture known around the world. So, picking the most famous of all the structures in the state might seem like an impossible task. But there is a clear winner, and the house is less than 2 hours from Twin Falls.

Among the famous buildings in Idaho, you’d have to include the Cataldo Mission in Coeur d’Alene or the Sun Valley Starship, check out galleries of both below. You could also include the Old Idaho Penitentiary or the TB Hospital in Gooding, but none of those is really the most famous. The honor of most famous in Idaho goes to the old home of an Idaho judge in Pocatello.

The Standrod House In Pocatello

The Standrod house in Pocatello was built in 1902, and according to House Beautiful, it is the most famous house in the state. The house looks like a castle and was built for Judge Drew Standrod and his family by a San Francisco architect. Idaho’s Standrod Mansion

The mansion at 648 N Garfield Ave, Pocatello is a sizeable 6-bedroom home valued at around $734,000 and is included on the National Register of Historic Places. The National Register calls it ‘one of the most imposing private homes in the state of Idaho.’
