IDAHO STATE POLICE REPORT 2/2/26: A single vehicle accident in Northern Idaho is being investigated by the Idaho State Police. The accident happened north of Athol, near Lake Pend Oreille, which is part of District 1 - Northern Idaho for the ISP.

The accident reportedly happened at 7:58 AM, on Tuesday, February 2nd on US95 at mile marker 451. In the report from the Idaho State Police we learn:

  • Troopers responded to the report of an unknown injury rollover crash of a 94’ Jeep Wrangler located southbound US95 at milepost 451.
  • The 79 year old male driver was transported by ambulance to Kootenai Health where he was pronounced deceased.

The accident closed both lanes of the highway for a short amount of time and ISP were assisted by the Idaho Transportation Department with traffic control.

The first accident in the new month, as reported by the Idaho State Police, involved four pickup trucks, but only one driver.

The ISP report says that the driver of a Ford F150 left the roadway near the Kim Hansen Chevrolet dealership in Burley Idaho and hit three 2026 Chevy Silverado trucks. The driver of the Ford was not wearing a seatbelt and was taken to a local hospital with injuries.
