This Massive Change Happened at the Shoshone Falls Over the Weekend
Something that only happens a few times a year just happened in Southern Idaho, and if you missed it, you still have time to check it out before it changes again.
The Shoshone Falls are among the most famous waterfalls in the United States, often compared to Niagara Falls, but the waterfall can be a disappointment if you go at the wrong time.
Something Incredible Just Happened at Shoshone Falls and Here's What Changed
But if you head to the ‘Niagara of the West’ in the next few weeks, you’ll be treated to a spectacular scene. As you can see in the pictures below, the amount of water going over the waterfall now compared to last week is crazy.
Exactly how crazy? Idaho Power says they increased the water flow by about 1,000 percent over the weekend from 300 CFS to about 3,000 CFS. This is what that difference looks like and why you definitely want to see it in person if you can.
We took the first picture of the Shoshone Falls on Friday, June 6th, and the second is from today, June 9th. 3 days can make a huge difference.

The water will remain high for about 3 to 4 weeks, and then Idaho Power will cut it back down to a trickle.
