Big Crowd Gathers For College Of Southern Idaho 60th Anniversary
A sizable crowd gathered over the weekend on the campus of the College of Southern Idaho to celebrate the school's 60th year in operation.
It was an exceptionally beautiful morning on Saturday as volunteers and CSI staffers began setting up around 9 A.M. for Eagle Fest, a party to commemorate the six decades of services the campus has provided since opening in 1965.
I arrived at 9:30 A.M. and pulled into my designated spot between the Fine Arts Building and the Student Union Center, which also houses the cafeteria. The stage sound crew was testing equipment as I began my setup just behind the brick structure facing the school's herb garden.

My first matter of business was making sure I got a picture with 'Gilbert the Golden Eagle', who strolled about on campus, waving at staff as they assembled pop-ups and positioned tables along the massive lawn area outside the Student Union Building.

The event included bounce houses, inflatable games, food, ice cream, mini golf, face painting, a petting zoo near the Veterinary Technologies Building, horse-drawn wagon rides, and performances from the CSI Jazz Ensemble, who played a great variety of songs from the sixties.
I would like to thank Director of Marketing Matt Hartgrave and the other individuals who contributed to the event's success. It had been a while since I walked the campus, and I found the event to be a huge success that appeared to be executed to perfection.
