It's just natural that humans begin to think more and more about death as we age. Many of us have lost at least one parent, and we celebrate them by remembering what it was about our mothers and fathers--biological or not-- that made us love them.

The death of a loved one is the most sobering, sorrowful, life-disrupting reality we endure as human beings. The impact of death never fully heals inside of us, and there's at least one thing about our folks' personalities that we absolutely adored and will miss the most until we hopefully get the chance to be with them again, in some way, shape, or form.

Reddit Survey Asked Adults What They Missed The Most About Their Deceased Loves Ones

My pap passed away in February of 2022 at age 87, and is buried just a few miles outside Twin Falls. In his final years, he lived alone at an independent living facility here in southern Idaho; It's what he wanted.

One of my fondest memories of him in his final months alive was shooting pool with him in the game room where he lived, and him stopping to introduce me to every resident and staff member who walked by. I must have shaken a hundred hands.

He was Italian, so he talked smack until the very end.
