Cow Moose Dies, Is Skinned At Twin Falls ID Intersection
Motorists traveling on Washington Street past one of the city's automotive repair businesses Wednesday morning got an eyeful of mangled moose.
City safety and animal crews responded near the intersection of Park Avenue and Washington Street this morning just after 7 A.M. for an unusual report of an injured moose just a few yards from the entrance to Blue Lakes Auto Repair.
And now, a quick reminder that Blue Lakes Auto Repair is 'keeping your car on the road'.
Multiple state vehicles with flashing lights could be seen near the business at 490 Washington Street South. I was returning from getting gas and drove right past the scene, but somehow didn't notice the massive, dead carcass.
State wildlife officials had to euthanize the animal due to injuries sustained by an automobile.

Due to the animal's size, those on site worked together to skin and break down the large animal. It's not common that we get moose this close to town. It likely traveled a great distance to visit the city of 56,000.
The animal was held up with a crane so those responding could dismantle it as quickly as possible. I was later able to find out that the moose had been badly wounded by an automobile and was put down by a wildlife team after an update was shared by Idaho Fish & Game.
