BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The spokeswoman for State Schools Superintendent Tom Luna triggered a tug of war over his Wikipedia entry when revising the page to include, among other things, positive information about his reforms — the subject of polarizing debate. The Idaho Statesman reports Melissa McGrath also struck the word "online" when referencing Luna's degree, which he did earn online from Thomas Edison State College. She told the newspaper that was an oversight. McGrath's numerous edits were entered two weeks ago and included removing a false claim that Luna is the only state schools chief without classroom or administrative experience. The entry was then revised more than 60 times, with Luna's foes lashing out at the changes. Wikipedia's senior editors have since updated the entry, stripping any slanted material.
