Even in these tougher economic times there is still a group working on the possibility of someday building a community recreation center in Twin Falls.

Idaho’s U.S. Senator Mike Crapo was in the Magic Valley yeterday speaking at a Jerome Chamber of Commerce luncheon and holding a Town Hall meeting last evening.

The struggle to get money for the 4th of July fireworks display this year was eased a bit over the last several days.

The question remains…will there be a 4th of July fireworks display this year on the CSI campus?  The group soliciting donations for this year’s Fourth of July fireworks event needs to come up with about $15,000 by Monday in order to meet the $35,000 dollar goal.

A committee has been formed in Twin Falls to study the possibility of building a recreation center in the future.  The 17 member committee consists of four city employees, three city council members and the remainder from city residents and service organization members.
