The question remains…will there be a 4th of July fireworks display this year on the CSI campus?  The group soliciting donations for this year’s Fourth of July fireworks event needs to come up with about $15,000 by Monday in order to meet the $35,000 dollar goal.  The final goal is a little higher this year since it will be a combined effort including Jerome.  The Jerome City Council cut the regular funding for that town’s fireworks display because of budget concerns.  Magic Valley Citizens Fourth of July committee joined forces with Jerome to fund a combined show this year.  A last minute effort is being made to get the remaining $15,000 donations to fund the show.  The deadline for ordering the fireworks is Monday.  The citizens committee took over responsibility for the fireworks show last year amid controversy over the Southern Idaho Fireworks considering delaying the display until July 5th so the show would not be held on a Sunday.  Fueled by lots of emotion the donations for the show were collected last year but without the same emotion and controversy this year getting donations is a little tougher.  If you would like to donate to the cause you can do so at magicvalleyfireworks.org.
