A former bookkeeper for the Castleford School District has entered a not-guilty plea after being charged with embezzling money from the school district.  54 year old Brenda Thompson entered the plea in Twin Falls County 5th District Court.  She is charged with felony grand theft for allegedly overpaying herself $34,000 dollars between 2006 and 2009...

Two Twin Falls School District trustees have been voted out of office. That's just one of the outcomes of yesterday's elections in the magic valley area.

A preliminary budget for the next school year is being formulated by the Twin Falls School District and yesterday the Board of Trustees took a look.  So far the district is looking at a budget of approximately $40.3-million dollars.

This spring is shaping up to be another season of supplemental levy elections for area schools.  The Buhl School District announced last week of its intentions of asking voters for over a half million dollars to keep the schools running.

Voters in the Buhl School District will decide on a supplemental levy on May 17th.  The proposed levy is for nearly $572,000 dollars for one year.  Buhl Superintendent Byron Stutzman ways the district will need that amount to keep the district running as it is now.

Buhl school district officials are warning that due to state cutbacks the district is over half a million dollars short for the coming school year’s budget.  In order to make up the shortfall, the Buhl school district voters will be able to vote on a supplemental levy on May 17th.

After the original charges against her were dismissed last October a Castleford woman again faces charges of embezzlement.
