We spent a couple of weeks on the subject, and our parents had to sign consent forms. I'm not sure that sitting through a sex education course at that age leaves a lasting impression on a 12 or 13-year-old kid, but my parents were all for it.
A bill that would require parents to "opt in" before their children can receive sex education in school has cleared the Idaho House on a party-line vote.
The bill, sponsored by Republican Rep. Barbara Ehardt of Idaho Falls, now heads to the Senate side of the GOP-controlled Idaho Legislature.
