Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Parts of Magic Valley
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of the Magic Valley that is in effect until midnight Tuesday.
The advisory says there is the possibility of a mix of rain, snow, and freezing rain with road temperatures well below freezing that could cause icy conditions for travel.
Eastern Magic Valley and the south-central highlands will be most affected, according to the NWS, including the cities of Burley, Heyburn and Oakley. Shoshone, Malta and the Sweetzer Summit also could be affected.
“Precipitation will begin after 2 p.m. and continue into the early evening,” the Tuesday morning advisory reads. Both ice and snow accumulation is likely.
“Sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties,” the advisory continues. “Be prepared for slippery roads and limited [visibility] and use caution while driving.”
Weather advisories also are in effect for parts of the Treasure Valley and eastern Idaho.
