An informational meeting held in Twin Falls yesterday for the Chobani yogurt factory currently under construction  got about twice as many  attendees than officials were expecting.  Officials fielded some questions about the new plant from those attending but still remained tight lipped about some of the details, saying that they wanted to keep some of the thunder for the actual opening this summe

With the construction of the new Chobani Greek Yogurt facility well under way in Twin Falls the attention is now being focused on upper management for the local facility.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Chobani yogurt factory east of Twin Falls is set for December 19th, but you wouldn’t know it from the level of activity going on at the property at Kimberly Road and 3300 East Road.

Representatives with the Idaho Department of Labor and College of Southern Idaho plan to visit the headquarters of New York-based Agro Farma to learn what kind of skills workers will need at a Chobani yogurt plant this week. Although the pomp and circumstance of the Chobani Greek Yogurt manufacturing plant moving to Twin Falls was celebrated earlier this month, the Twin Falls City Council still needed to put its stamp of approval on a couple of items before it could happen.  The Times News reports that occurred yesterday during the regular session of the council.

The Twin Falls city council gave Chobani yogurt a thumbs up last night with approval of a rezoning effort. I n order to build the planned plant, the 58 acre plot of land located at the southwest corner of Kimberly Road and 3300 East Road had to go from "commercial" to "heavy manufacturing"...

The Twin Falls area is in the running as a possible location for a production plan to produce yogurt.  The Times News reports today that officials for  Chobani, a New York-based manufacturer of Greek yogurt, have visited Twin Falls looking for a possible location to build a production facility close to the west coast.
