Home Invasion Suspect Gets 20 Years
One of the men who participated in a home invasion in Dietrich last March is going to prison for at least 20 years. Yesterday 5th District Judge John Butler sentenced Jeremiah Bennett to 20 to 25 years for a kidnapping conviction, 10 years for burglary and 20 years to life for the robbery.
Bennett will serve the three terms concurrently with a 20 year minimum. Bennett and three others were accused of bursting into the home of David and Colleen Conner late at night last March, holding the couple at gunpoint and rummaging through their house looking for valuables. One co-defendant in the case, 30 year old Jamie Taylor, was sentenced earlier to 10 years for conspiracy to commit burglary. 30 year old Gabriel Baker is scheduled for sentencing later this month and 22 year old Aaron Donabedian is scheduled for trial on January 31st.
