Huge Golf Ball Drop in Twin Falls
This is fun! Habitat for Humanity of Magic Valley is hosting their first annual golf scramble. This event is different from other golf scrambles because it includes a huge golf ball drop.
Playing golf is fun, but watching hundreds, maybe even thousands of golf balls drop from a helicopter onto Canyon Springs Golf Course is fantastic!
The big golf drop is a 50/50 drop. The ball at the bottom of the hole or closest to the hole wins a cash prize!
Balls can be purchased for $10 per ball or $50 for six balls. You do not have to be present to win. Licorice ropes are $25. Mulligans are $5 or 6 for $25.
The golf scramble will be held on July 28th at Canyon Springs Golf Course. Check in begins at 8:00am with a shotgun start at 9:00am. The scramble is an 18 hole, four-person scramble. Carts and lunches are included. There are three ways to win: the hole in one contest, closest to the pin contest, and longest drive contest. The hole in one prize is a MX-5 Miata from Goode Motor Mazda. See Habitat for Humanity for full details.
The 50/50 golf ball drop will follow the scramble. A silent auction will also be included after the scramble.
The event benefits Habitat for Humanity. This organization is tremendously important in assisting the Magic Valley housing needs. According to Habitat for Humanity, in Twin Falls county 14.5% of the population lives in poverty. This is over 10,000 people.
Obtaining a Habitat home isn't free, or 100% easy for families. It is however a way to provide a home for your family that you may not otherwise be able to.
Here are some facts about Habitat homes:
- The average Habitat home costs $90,000.
- Habitat families put in 300 to 500 sweat equity hours as their down payment.
- Homes are sold to the families with a zero interest rate.
- Habitat families also pay a 25-30 year mortgage at an affordable monthly payment.
