OK, so there was a time when I would take an eating challenge dare. Could I eat that in this amount of time? Sure, I like food, I like eating. Let's give it a shot.

At the time, there was a very popular show on The Travel Channel called Man Vs. Food, where the host, Adam Richman, would travel the country and attempt various outrageous food challenges.

Let's start with perhaps the most famous food challenge in Idaho. The Big Jud's.

The Big Jud is massive. Here is the official challenge info from their website.

Many have tried, and many have failed. But every attempt is delicious.

Next up was something called the "8 Ball" Challenge with Jimmy John's many years ago. They introduced a new sub with four 1/2-pound meatballs. It coincided with a new movie at the time called Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs.

The theater, which is now BoDo Cinema West, asked if I wanted to compete, and I gladly accepted. I was able to eat the two pounds of meatballs, but left the marinara sauce-soaked bun behind as time expired.

Remarkably, I had eaten the most and was crowned the winner. A few hours later, moaning and groaning on my couch, regretting my decision to compete, I hardly felt like one.

There was also this one time I won a pumpkin pie-eating competition during the Middleton harvest festival, and I tried the Taco Del Mar 5-pound burrito challenge. I ate about 4 pounds of it before time expired.

Besides the Big Jud challenge, there are several other local food-eating challenges available in the Treasure Valley. Good luck. You'll need it.
