Politics in Idaho can often feel overwhelming. The arena is tense, there are divisions not only among Republicans and Democrats, but these days, with Republicans among themselves.

Recent legislation that is now headed to Governor Brad Little's desk has been endorsed by Paris Hilton, of all people, and the internet is applauding, too.

House Bill 273, which is now passed and awaiting Little's signature, will create requirements for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to investigate and enforce standards of safety for care that children are in. Between parental care and the incorporation of Child Protective Services.

Paris Hilton showed Idaho some love on all of her social media platforms forms with the message below:

The message was well received, with hundreds of responses encouraging Paris Hilton's efforts behind the legislation and bills similar to it, nationwide.

Also unique in all of this? Hilton thanked a Republican (Marco Erickson) and a Democrat (Ali Rabe).  In a world where bipartisanship feels extraordinarily impossible and especially in Idaho, where Republicans have a super majority, it's refreshing to hear that both sides of the aisle worked for something together that matters for Idahoans.
