Are you shopping for a used vehicle in 2026? Want something newer, but not brand new, so you don't have to pay as much? Oh boy, have we got a deal for you!

Only catch is, said deal is in California.

Yes, used vehicles cost less (on average) in California than in Idaho.

But, how much less? Actually, a decent amount.

According to recent data, the average amount you're going to pay for a used vehicle in 2026 in Idaho is around $37,092. Same average price in California?

$35,750.

Meaning, you're going to save (around) $1,500 if you purchase a used vehicle in California as opposed to buying it here in Idaho.

The good news is, Idaho isn't the most expensive state to upgrade your vehicle. That honor would go to Wyoming. I know, we were surprised too.

The average used vehicle cost in Wyoming is a whopping $41,400. Maybe you should not purchase your vehicle there. Just sayin'.

Unfortunately, even if you update your vehicle to something newer and sexier, we can't promise it'll help you get through Idaho traffic any sooner.

No jokes, traffic in Idaho in 2026 is some other kind of monster. We're not here for it. At all.
