Have Fun at One of These 6 Events This Weekend in the Magic Valley

There are only 52 weekends in a calendar year, which means you don't get many, and wasting one seems silly. While the temperatures are dropping a bit, that doesn't mean you have to be on the couch snuggled up in a blanket all weekend long. There is plenty of fun happening in the Magic Valley each weekend. Get off the couch, get out of the house, and go to one of the events this weekend taking place in Twin Falls.

Thursday, January 15 and Saturday, January 17 - CSI Women's Basketball

Basketball season is in full swing in Twin Falls, and if you haven't had a chance to catch the CSI women's basketball team yet this season, you are missing out on one of the best teams in the country. The women are currently 17-1 and ranked ninth in the country and will be in action twice this weekend at home. The first game will be on Thursday at 5 PM against Snow College, and then they will play again on Saturday at 1 PM against Utah State University Eastern. Thursday, January 15 and Saturday, January 17 - CSI Men's Basketball

The women's team isn't the only ranked team on campus, as the CSI men's team is also 17-1 and ranked 11th in the country. The men will be in action at home for two games, against Snow College on Thursday at 7 PM and on Saturday at 3 PM against Utah State University Eastern. Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17 - 'High School Musical Jr'

With chilly temperatures, it is always a good idea to have indoor plans on weekends in January, and one of the best ways to stay indoors and have some fun is seeing a musical. This weekend, the Orpheum Theatre will be having a great musical performed as 'High School Musical Jr' will be taking place on Friday and Saturday. Showtime on Friday will be 7 PM, and there will be two showtimes on Saturday at 2 PM and 7 PM. Tickets start as low as $15. Saturday, January 17 - Movie Matinee

Going to the movies is always a fun time, but it is getting expensive to take a family to the theater. There are other ways to see movies other than spending a lot of money. You can see a free movie every Saturday at the Twin Falls Public Library. Movie Matinee will be happening at 3 PM this Saturday, and this week's free movie is 'Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale'. If you have never seen the movie or enjoy watching it, this is a great way to get out and have some free fun. Saturday, January 17 - Wines of Washington

Do you enjoy learning about new wines, or perhaps you have always wanted to learn about them but have never known where to start? This weekend is your chance to sip on some wine and learn more about it at Wines of Washington. The event will be happening at Rudy's in downtown Twin Falls at 147 Main Avenue W. The event is Saturday at 6 PM and costs $50 per person. You will get to enjoy wines from the state of Washington, and they will be paired with appetizers as well. Sunday, January 18 - Snowshoe the South Hills

During the winter, there are many fun activities to enjoy in Idaho. You can go sledding, skiing, snowboarding, and many more, but have you ever done snowshoeing? This weekend, there will be Snowshoe the South Hills. This event is being put on by Magic Valley Hiking Plus and is a great way to try snowshoeing if you haven't, or to have a group to go with if you enjoy doing it.
