7 Events to Enjoy the First Weekend of March in the Magic Valley

The months are flying by and February is ending, as March begins this weekend. It is beginning to feel like spring outside, and the nice weather will have many wanting to get out this weekend to take advantage of it and have some fun. While doing some light yardwork is an option, how about getting out and having some fun at one of the events this weekend in the Magic Valley? Here are some things to get out and do the first weekend of March in Twin Falls and around the Magic Valley.

Thursday, February 27 - Essential Skills of Mental Health

Mental health is a vital part of everyday life, and finding out how to control your mental health, as well as being in a good mental state is important. If you are someone who could use help in this department, make sure to make time to attend Essential Skills of Mental Health. This is one of four classes offered over the next month at the Historic Wilson Theatre in Rupert. The class is $5 and will be happening on Thursday at 7 PM. Friday, February 28 - Free Sealant Clinic For Kids

Dental work can often be expensive and not everyone can afford it, despite needing it. There is a rare chance this weekend for children in the Magic Valley to get free dental work thanks to a special event happening this Friday. The CSI Dental Clinic will offer a free sealant clinic for kids on Friday from 1 PM to 4 PM at the CSI Dental Hygiene Clinic, located at 397 N College Road. Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 - CSI Baseball

With the weather being nice this weekend, why not enjoy some time outside cheering on the local baseball team? There will be plenty of chances this weekend, as the CSI baseball team will play four games. There will be two games on Friday at 1 PM and 3 PM and two games on Saturday at noon and 2 PM. All the games this weekend will be against Treasure Valley Community College. The baseball team is currently 11-8 on the season and has won their previous two games. Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 - CSI Softball

If you want to enjoy both teams or prefer to watch softball, the CSI softball team will also be in action this week. Their games will be at the same time as the baseball games, playing at 1 PM and 3 PM on Friday, and at noon and 2 PM on Saturday, with all their games being against North Idaho College. The softball team is currently 5-10 on the season and will look to snap a 5-game losing streak this weekend. For more on the team, make sure to click the link above.

Friday, February 28 - 13th Annual Martini Masquerade Ball

Many people enjoy a nice martini on the weekends, and going to a ball is always a blast, which is why many are excited for the return of the 13th Annual Martini Masquerade Ball this Friday. The annual event will be happening from 6 PM to 11 PM at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer. Tickets range from $45 to $80 and this year the theme is 50's Sock Hop. Saturday, March 1 - Movie Matinee

Everyone enjoys getting out of the house to go to a movie, but what makes the movies better? When it is free. You can enjoy a free movie at the Twin Falls Public Library this Saturday at 3 PM at Movie Matinee. This week they will be showing 'Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim.' Saturday, March 1 - Toast

After a long week of work, live music could be exactly what you need to escape your worries and stress. The cover band Toast will be performing this weekend in Rupert and if you enjoy the band Bread, you won't want to miss them. They will be performing twice this Saturday at the Historic Wilson Theatre, with a performance at 3 PM and another at 7 PM. The 7 PM show is currently sold out, but you can still get tickets to the 3 PM show, with tickets going fast and as low as $37.
