Summer is in full swing and many people are traveling during the season with kids out of school, warm weather in most locations, and taking some much-needed time off. As tourists invade cities, beaches, and locations all over the country, many businesses thrive and bank on this time of year to make a living. The more people travel to your town, the more money coming into it. It is surprising to see a store close during the summer, especially a grocery store when many are stocking up for the lake, the river, or the pool every weekend. One major grocery store will have all its locations closing on the same day this summer, and some residents are upset about the timing.

The Fourth of July is quickly approaching, and many are stocking up on hamburger and hot dogs buns, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, chips, beer, soda, and much more for the big day. Some will be looking for a patriotic shirt to wear, while others will be looking for some fun poppers or activities for the kids that are safe but still fun. One of the best places to get all of these things in one location is Costco. For many, it seems simple to run to the store on your way to your holiday festivities and grab some last-minute items, but in the case of Costco, that won't be possible this year, as the store will be closed for the holiday

It may seem inconvenient for shoppers, but Costco employees, also want to enjoy the parades, the fireworks, the pool, the lake, and spending time with their families. Over the last few years, this is where Costco has thrived as a business and is one reason why many say it is a great place to work. They are missing out on making money, but the happiness of their employees is important to them, and allowing them to have the holiday off keeps work morale up. If you need to get anything from Costco for the holiday, make sure to do so before the Fourth of July, or else you will have to go elsewhere or do without it.

While it might be bad news to some to see Costco closed, the good news is that they will be open once again on July 5.
