Cars in Idaho Can’t Figure Out How Stoplights Work
Driving in Idaho can be an adventure. Every time you get behind the wheel and decide to get on the road, you never know what you will encounter. Sometimes you can be stuck behind a tractor, sometimes a person in a wheelchair is sitting in the middle of the road, and often construction or a wreck delays you getting to your destination. Often, drivers in Idaho and everywhere get mocked and laughed at for stupid things they do. It can be how they park, the lack of going the speed limit, or any number of dumb things people do behind the wheel. Add not knowing how to stop at stoplights to the list of dumb things Idaho drivers need to figure out.
Not Stopping at Stoplights Properly in Idaho
When it comes to stopping at a stoplight, most drivers know to stay behind the crosswalk, and behind the white line. It seems pretty simple, yet many drivers in the Gem State continue to straddle the line or stay far behind it. The other extreme, is what is pictured above, where sometimes drivers think it is more of a recommendation than a requirement. The car above decided to be fully over the line before stopping. At this point, the car might as well have gone through the light, as they are sitting in the intersection, and anyone turning left from the opposite direction or coming straight from the left side, would have this car sitting in their lane.
Dumb Drivers in Idaho
While the above is only one example, it is one of many occurrences that continue to happen in the Magic Valley. Stopping at stop lights wrong, texting and driving, drinking and driving, and going around tractors or slow vehicles when traffic is coming are all things that occur on Idaho roads far too often. These selfish and reckless acts are why far too many fatalities are happening on the road in the Gem State. While many of us laugh and shake our heads at bad parking in Idaho, these are the same people who are doing all of the above on the road as well. Driving can be fun, but when you don't make it to your destination, it isn't so fun, and moments like these are what are keeping people from reaching home safely.
Put the phones down, stop being distracted, and pay attention to what you are doing behind the wheel in Idaho. It may be going too far over a white line, but next time it could be running a red light and causing a wreck and injuring someone or worse, killing someone. Be alert and pay attention, and do not end up being someone in one of the many bad driving or fatality stories written on this site.
