If one of your New Year’s Resolutions is to find a new and better job, you might be living in the wrong state. But the good news for Idahoans is that you don’t have to go far to find the dream career of your lifetime.
A recent study was conducted to find some of the best cities in the nation to start a new job. Accounting for stats like opportunities, employment growth, job satisfaction, and a slew of other metrics, Wallet Hub conducted a survey and came up with the best cities in the nation to live for workers.
If you want opportunity, Salt Lake City is where it’s at
While Boise, Idaho didn’t do terribly, ranked 28 out of some 182 cities, it appears that Salt Lake City, Utah is the place to be. Salt Lake earned the #3 spot on the survey, only losing to Scottsdale, Arizona, and Miami, Florida, who earned the #1 and #2 spots, respectively.
Why Salt Lake City Utah is the place to find the best jobs
According to the study, Salt Lake City, Utah ranks third best because of its low unemployment rate. Compared to the rest of the country, Salt Lake's unemployment rate is only 3%. FWIW: Idaho’s unemployment rate is respectable at 3.3%, we just don’t rank high in growth potential. Speaking of growth, Salt Lake City is listed as #1 in growth potential with the highest number of employers predicting that they will add employees as opposed to downsizing.
