Hundreds of Twin Falls area residents attended and participated in the 2023 Magic Valley 911 Memorial Flag Walk. Watching the flag make its trek along the Snake River Canyon walking path to the Twin Falls Visitors Center was both somber and inspiring.

The Flag Walk is one of many events and a precursor to the 911 Memorial that will take place on September 11, 2023, at the Twin Falls Visitors Center. More details about Monday's event are below.

Magic Valley 911 Memorial - Flag Walk 2023

Several hundred people gathered at the Twin Falls Visitors Center on September 10, 2023 to watch the American Flag being carried by a group of 911 Memorial committee members and volunteers, in memory of the fallen. As impressive as the flag is, it's small relative to the flag that will fly across the Snake River Canyon on September 11.

The Flag Walk was held in conjunction with the 4th annual Bands at the Bridge event sponsored by Love Yourself. Love Yourself Inc. is a non-profit organization that spreads hope, awareness, and resources regarding the importance of mental health and suicide awareness.

Along with an awe-inspiring view of the 11,700 square-foot flag, the Magic Valley 911 Memorial will feature an Air Force flyover, a 21-gun salute, a band, and food vendors. Families are encouraged to attend as we come together as a community, remember those who have fallen, and spread patriotism with our fellow Americans.

The 911 Memorial Flag will continue to fly across the canyon for several days following the event in honor of the various public service branches.
