The Twin Falls Public Library has officially decided to go fine-free for late returns on books and other materials starting next year. The library stated that fines will no longer be implemented, and current fines will be forgiven.

Fine Free At The Twin Falls Public Library

Starting in January of 2023, the Twin Falls Public Library has announced that late fees will no longer be enforced on people returning books past a certain time frame. Any person with fees on reading material right now will have their fees waived. Fees, however, will still be given to any damaged, stolen, or lost reading materials.

Reasons To Go Fine Free At The Library

The Twin Falls Public Library actually said that studies indicate that fine-free libraries have a higher return rate for reading material. The Twin Falls Library said that they want to make sure that they don't discourage anyone from going to the library due to possible financial issues, not being able to pay fines, and getting them to return on a regular basis.
