What would you do? What would you do if your friends or family forced you into a haunted maze when you hate to be scared? Would you curl up and cry like a baby? Would you scream loud enough that the monsters finally leave you alone? Would you admit to hating scary things and try to chicken out? It is the time of year that many residents across the Magic Valley are spending weekends getting lost in mazes and getting scared at haunted attractions. Nobody wants to miss out on the fun, but if you hate being scared, do you miss out or how do you handle the situation?

For many in the Magic Valley, this is their favorite time of year. There is the Burley Straw Maze, the Magic Valley Corn Maze and Haunted ForestTubbs Berry Farm, the Haunted Swamp, and other mazes or haunted attractions. While these are great fun, they aren't for everyone. The scarier ones are not for little kids, but perhaps they aren't for some adults either. Some adults can't handle being scared and the thought of going to these attractions makes them have a panic attack. It is likely that at some point a family member, coworker, or friend will try to trick you into going to one, either to have fun watching you cry or because they want you to be a part of the fun. If you are unable to come up with a good enough excuse, then you might have to face your worst fear, and then how do you handle it?

While there are family-friendly attractions, sometimes the haunted and spooky ones make things a little more exciting. If your friends try to pull you into one, you have a few options. Accept your fate and know you will get spooked, likely cry, and hate your time going through it. You might get kicked out for swinging and hitting someone for jumping out at you. You might curl up and stay lost in the maze until the attraction closes and someone comes and gets you to help you out. You can come up with an excuse to try and get out of it, and deal with your friends or family making fun of you, but that might be better than any of the previous options. These attractions are well done, and they are intended to scare customers, and if that isn't your thing, you likely won't enjoy it.

It is ok to admit you don't like being scared. Yes, people might mock you for it but know that you are not alone. There are plenty of people who don't enjoy this time of year, but for those who do, don't pressure your friends who might not enjoy the horror. I am not someone that likes being scared and I own up to it and miss out every year, but that is ok. I rather miss out, than punch someone for doing their job or crying like a toddler in public. The good news is that tonight is the final night for many of these places, but if you are like me and don't like scary attractions, and are forced or tricked into going, what would you do?

The Perrine Bridge by itself isn't that big of a deal in the fear-factor category until you decide to do a BASE jump. That's when the fear level goes up to 10. Other places are just scary as the bridge.

Straw Bale Maze at Tubb's Berry Farm

The straw bale maze is shaped like a bee and is filled with dead ends and fun activities. As you wander through the maze you can find hidden hole punches with special shapes to earn a free popcorn...if you are able to make it out.
