What Would You Do? Neighbor’s Yard Needs Some Help in Idaho
What would you do? What would you do if your neighbor's yard was covered in dandelions and weeds, and needed some help, but they hadn't taken care of it yet? Would you take it upon yourself to do it for them? Would you ask if they need help? Would you let it be and let them worry about their yard? Each person handles their yard differently, but some want the neighborhood to look good, and some don't care as much. If you were taking care of your yard and noticed your neighbor's needed a little help, what would you do?
Yardwork in Idaho
Many residents around the Magic Valley have begun doing yardwork as the weather has allowed it recently. While mowing is the main priority, so is planting grass, fertilizing, pulling weeds, and spraying weeds. While dandelions may look pretty to some, they are a weed, and many prefer to spray and get them out of the yard. It can be a tough process, but one that is worth it and makes a yard look beautiful. When you are out doing spraying or pulling, if your neighbor's yard is covered in weeds, do you help them, ask them, or ignore it? Some neighborhoods will require homes to take care of their yards, but not all do. Some neighbors will care about their yards and want to do things their way, while others may not care at all. What is the proper way to handle this situation?
Helping Neighbors in Idaho
The neighborly thing to do is to help them make their yard look prettier, but you could offend your neighbor. There are many in the area who take pride in their yard and have certain sprays they prefer, want their yard mowed a certain way, and want things done exactly how they prefer. They may not have been able to get out to their yard yet due to being ill, unable to get spray, or for several reasons. It is always best to ask, but when in the flow of mowing, spraying, and doing yard work, it can at times be tempting to just continue and notify your neighbor later. If their yard gets to a certain point that it is bringing down the value of the neighborhood, do you say something, or do you let it go and not get involved?
There is nothing wrong with wanting to help a neighbor or wanting to keep the area you live in beautiful, but it can cross a line if you take matters into your own hands, without notifying the person you are helping. Keeping the neighborhood pretty is important, but so is keeping the peace between you and your neighbor. If you notice that their yard needs a hand this spring or summer, what would you do?
